Star Night Technologies, an Israeli Firm, has won a tender estimated at 30 million dollars to supply night vision equipment to the Indian Army. This order is supposed to be supplied over a two-year period. At this time the date for of the delivery start is still unknown, and SDS is negotiating with Indian authorities on this. Star Night Technologies won the tender through a subsidiary, New Noga Light Ltd., which manufactures night-vision equipment and sniper rifle sights.
The Israeli Defense Ministry recently informed that last year India was its single largest defense equipment importer worth 1.5 billion dollars. It comes to about 50 per cent of Israel’s defense exports, and at the same time about 30 per cent of India’s imports.
