‘Smart’ backpack will decrease the carry weight
A scientist from the University of Pennsylvania fundamentally changed the design of backpacks. So, now army troops will not feel the load so much.
The thing is that during the walk human body moves up and down in an amplitude of 1-2 inches and accordingly, a person has to lift up and down the weight of a load every time a person makes a step.
The design of the new backpack is based on the principle of staying on the same level when the person walks. It is suspended on elastic ropes and every time a person makes a step, the backpack slips up and down.
And besides that this design decreases weight on 86%, and total energy economy is about 40 Wt. But the main goal of such backpack is to decrease the level of getting muscle and spinal injury.
